Welcome to First Grade

with Mrs. Sara Malloy

Please Meet your 1st Grade Teacher

Mrs. Sara Malloy grew up in New Castle, Colorado where her father is the current mayor.  Sara holds a bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication from The University of Colorado at Boulder.  She was trained as a techer at Stanley British Primary School in Denver. In 2006 Sara moved to California’s central coast where she studied Fashion Illustration and Fashion Design at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.  She chose these fashion courses to supplement and enhance her creative talents.

Sara believes in the education of the whole child through an experiential philosophy in a hands-on, discovery-based learning environment..." She believes in a positive, stimulating, and engaging classroom culture. She strives to teach children to be confident risk takers, creative problem solvers, become accountable citizens and people who honor diversity, compassion, and honesty.

Mrs. Malloy was married this summer in Vail, Colorado. Sara’s husband is a Brew Master at the Glenwood Canyon Brew Pub. He also has his own consulting business called Think Tank Brewing and occasionally does some consulting for the Brew Pub. Recently they have purchased a home and live in New Castle. She loves her single speed mountain bike (she adores bikes in general), hearts, shoes, strawberries, reggae, markers and paints, fashion magazines, and her cat Ribe.
